About Pei

Pei Xin Liu is an artist and cultural organiser working at the intersection of spatial politics, emotional labour, and diasporic memory. Their practice spans installation, object-making, and collaborative formats, foregrounding the inbetweenness of belonging, the process of assimilation, and the limbo state of being stuck. Through sculptural forms and curatorial gestures, Liu blurs the line between care and constraint, public and private, gesture and infrastructure. With roots in Montréal, Shanghai, and Edinburgh, they approach cultural work through a multilingual, feminist, and materially attentive lens.
